madou und das licht der fantasie

Director Softmachine Gmbh Madou was a planetarium show (45 min.) I directed in 2003. Being a traditional planetarium (located in Munich) the production involved producing and synchronizing footage for various sets of slides (some even 'animated' through motorized mirrors), a laser system, video sequences (3 motorised projectors), a halfway complex lighting system and some other gimmicks like fog, stroboscopes etc. The feature is based on a radio show done by German pop star Nena (99 red balloons); my responsibilities included setting up the production and directing as well as concept art and storyboards, backgrounds and 2d animation (afx).
